5k Training for Everyone

Cleveland Half Marathon Training Group!

Whether you attended one of the 2011-2012 Couch to Finish 5k training clinics, or have been running on your own, you can attend the Winter Half Marathon Training.

If you can run 3 miles 3 times a week, you can join us for this!

We will start on December 29th, 2012. Group long runs will be held every Saturday* at 10am for 20 weeks, building up to 12 miles just in time to complete the Cleveland Rite Aid Half Marathon on May 19, 2013. We will also meet occasionally during the week for hill training and/or speedwork. During our training, we will run one or 2 local, shorter races as practice/tune-up, including the Spring Classic 10 Miler in April. *Some runs will be on Sunday, depending on scheduling conflicts. A second, Sunday clinic may be added if the Saturday one fills up.

Whether you are a first timer, or you’ve run a half marathon in the past, a training program can be developed for you! We traditionally have people of all paces at the group run, so that no one has to run alone. So either get out there and run your first 13.1, or train to demolish your best time in your 2nd, 3rd or 4th!

Included in this program will be:

  • Training plan designed for this program (your choice of 3 days or 4)
  • Unlimited email and text access to an RRCA Certified Running Coach
  • Discounts at local running stores
  • Saturday/Sunday group runs for your weekly long run, so you don’t have to do it alone!

The program lasts 20 weeks and the cost is just $75. You can’t beat $3.75 a week for this kind of training and camaraderie!

5k-10k Training!

Have you been running 3 miles for a while now, and want to start working in some more distance, but aren’t sure how? Or can’t find the motivation?

Here’s your chance!

Starting Tuesday, August 7th, a new clinic in the Medina area. We will start with 3 miles, and build you up to a 10k – just in time for you to run one on the Towpath.

Runs will be held Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday nights at 6:30 in and around Medina/Hinckley and a couple on the Towpath. Training with a group always makes it more fun!

The cost for all 9 weeks is $100. You can download an entry form here!

Half Marathon Long Runs changed to Saturdays!

Due to scheduling conflicts, the long group runs for the Towpath Half Marathon clinic have been changed to Saturday (with the possibility of a couple Sundays).

Come join us for a fun half marathon! Maybe your first? Or coming back from an extended break from running? All paces welcome!

Time for another Half Marathon!

Run your first half marathon this fall, and train with a group! How fun!

We will train for 20 weeks and then run the Towpath Half Marathon on October 7th, 2012.

You will be provided with a complete 3 or 4 day per week training plan, customized for this clinic. We will run as a group on SATURDAY mornings for the long run. Long runs will take place on the Towpath, or in the Metroparks in Strongsville, or at Hinckley Lake. Periodic optional weekday runs will also occur, in any of the above places, as well as Medina.

Spring 2012 Clinic Starts 4/15

That’s right! It’s almost time to get out there and run!

Our next Couch to 5k program starts in Medina in just 5 weeks. We’d love to have you join us.

Remember, this is for the beginners! No running experience or fitness necessary, we’ll start small.

We will meet at the Claggett Middle School track on 4/15 at 6:30pm for an informational meeting and our first run will be the following Tuesday (location dependent on whether or not the track is being used).

Spring 5k Training – Just around the corner!

Spring is almost here, believe it or not! And with it will come our next Couch to Finish 5k program.

If you want to start running, but don’t think you can do it, or don’t think you can do it ALONE, we are here for you.

Our next clinic starts on April 15, 2012 in Medina. We will start with 60 short seconds of running, and build up to a 5k in 9 weeks.
